What is being presented here is the result of a research where space and matter are the main characters. The repeated subject offers itself to an investigation whose aim is to unveil paradoxical analogies that link contemporary existence to the technical and methodological phases of making of the work. In this body of works, what is being pursued is a possible fusion between different levels of reading – sensorial, symbolic, conceptual – and in this their cancellation.

Halfway to representation and abstraction, in this works the subject and the observer lend themselves to a play of repositioning. The immersive nature of the water landscape is symbolically denied. The view is interrupted by a continued effort of eyestrain accommodation, lost between the image and its own surface, which is highlighted by the composition and sometimes by some geometrical bas-relief. The idea is to suspend, depict and return a questioning and wavering sensation, an experience that is aims by nature to the overcoming of the concepts of truth and border.

The picture becomes a place for the expression of the desire to even the odds between the notion of what’s real and what’s virtual, between a dimension de facto and another one, intangible but equally inferential.
